About BabyCakes Studios

Hi there, I'm Rebecca Reed, owner of BabyCakes Studios. My crochet journey started in late 2017, when I picked up an amigurumi cactus kit while on vacation in Saguaro National Park. The very first projects I made were all crochet cacti, and  I quickly moved on to crochet food and knew I had found my niche!

BabyCakes Studios was born in late 2018 when I opened at Etsy shop to share my crochet creations with the world. At the beginning of 2019, I started doing in-person markets with The Austin Flea, a pop up market in Austin, TX. Being able to share my creations with people in person and see their reactions brought me so much joy. I finally started writing down and selling my patterns in late 2019, and continue to grow this side of my business. 

Finally, this website was launched in early 2020 as a way to further connect with crochet enthusiasts. I believe there is something here for everyone, whether you are looking for a cute plush or a design to make your own creations. I'm so glad you're here!
